 Leah Larson, N.P is the newest member of Bernardo Dermatology’s health care team. She is the daughter of Dr. Ruth Larson, the founder of this dermatology practice, and Alan Larson, M.D, a local gastroenterologist and long time PPH board member. Leah’s education is extensive; a political science degree from Whitman College, and a master’s degree in conflict resolution from the University of Denver. However, being raised in a medical family eventually she “caught the bug” --sharing their passion for medicine and direct patient care. She proceeded to acquire her R.N degree from the University of San Diego and worked at UCSD’s Thornton Hospital in La Jolla on a medical-surgery ward. Following her dream to practice dermatology, Leah continued her medical training and has recently graduated with honors from the University of San Diego as a Nurse Practitioner.
Leah is a “people person,” relating to patients as friends in a caring, patient manner. Her style is to diagnose and treat skin conditions with a team approach emphasizing education, prevention, and self-care.
Leah is thrilled to be working with her mother, Dr Ruth Larson and the rest of the superb physicians of Bernardo Dermatology Medical Group. She started seeing patients July 7th, 2009.
